Results
Interim cash infusions increased worker attentiveness by 0.077 SDs overall (p=0.092) and 0.133 SDs among below-median wealth workers (p=0.037), whereas financial piece-rate increases produced no attentiveness improvement (-0.013 SDs, p=0.198).
Takeaway
Audit physical rework traces and unannounced defect metrics on finished products to quantify cognitive load and attention deficits independently of self-reported surveys.
