Greetings from Equal Community Foundation!
We are pleased to introduce Project Raise, a national collaboration of civil society organisations, intermediaries, funders, and government agencies committed to raising Gender Equitable Adolescents. As an initiative of Equal Community Foundation, Project Raise seeks to scale the evidence-based approach of the Action for Equality (AfE) programme by equipping organisations with the knowledge, tools, and partnerships needed to engage adolescents in challenging harmful gender norms and promoting gender equality.
Through capacity-building workshops, evidence-based resources, and a growing community of practice, Project Raise supports organisations in designing and delivering effective gender-transformative programmes. To date, the initiative has engaged 92 organisations across India and Nepal, and has recently set foot in South Africa.
As part of this effort, we are organising an interactive and intensive workshop for NGOs and practitioners interested in strengthening gender-transformative approaches in their work. Key themes include:
- Gender socialisation and its impact on boys and young men
- Gender-transformative approach
- Facilitating behaviour change among adolescents
- Creating safe and inclusive spaces
- Engaging families, schools, and communities
- Measuring and documenting impact
The workshop draws on the learnings and evidence generated through the Action for Equality programme and offers practical tools and insights that participants can apply within their own contexts.
