Workshop on Intersectionality in Practice: Perspectives and Pathways by Visthar | August 2026

Over the past few years, the concept of intersectionality has become increasingly a part of the language of development, human rights and social justice organisations. Yet many of us continue to grapple with what it actually means in practice. How do we move beyond acknowledging multiple identities to actually designing programmes, building organisations, and advocating in ways that make this idea of intersectionality real?

To respond to this need, we have developed a practical course on Building Practical Intersectional Practice among NGOs and Community Leaders.
Rather than treating intersectionality as an abstract concept, the course helps participants apply it to their own work. Through interactive workshops, practical tools, real-life case studies, and post-training mentoring, participants learn how to design more inclusive programmes, strengthen organisational practices, and build solidarity across movements.

The course is particularly relevant for NGOs, community-based organisations, networks, and foundations working on gender, caste, disability, sexuality, livelihoods, climate justice, health, and other social justice issues.
