Results
In Ethiopia, job fairs corrected distorted beliefs about employment prospects and enhanced job search outcomes for job seekers with strong initial misconceptions. In the Philippines, a job fair sharing overseas labor market information increased the likelihood of seeking employment outside the local region and entering formal sector employment. In Germany, providing information about the job search process increased employment and earnings for workers at risk of long-term unemployment.
Takeaway
Organize targeted job fairs and deploy information campaigns that provide job seekers with comprehensive, cross-sectoral vacancy data and realistic labor market projections.
